International Conference Calls for Peace on Earth: A Night of Unity and Diplomacy

In Manila, Philippines, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) hosted an award luncheon that called for peace in the Middle East and worldwide. The November 7, 2023 event, International Conference Calls for Peace on Earth, at the Seda Vertis North Hotel. Gathered significant figures, including Senator Robin Padilla, to promote world harmony.

Senator Padilla’s Keynote Address:

Senator Padilla, the chief guest of the evening, delivered a powerful keynote address. Urging for a moral renaissance in the Philippines. Recognizing the nation as “the most religious nation in Southeast Asia,” he emphasized the need to reconnect with the values embedded in religion and the country’s history. Regardless of religious affiliations, he stressed the importance of returning to a shared belief in God as the foundation for a better society.

UPF’s Global Reach:

The Universal Peace Federation, an international organization with consultative status at the United Nations, operates in 160 countries worldwide. Founded by the late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon of South Korea, UPF aims to promote peace, reconciliation, and cooperation on a global scale.

Dr. Charles Yang’s Message:

International Chair of UPF, Dr. Charles Yang, shared a video message reading from UPF’s Response and Call to Action on Israel and Gaza. The message highlighted spiritual teachings advocating repentance, forgiveness, mutual respect, and the recognition of humanity as one family. Another key point from Dr. Yang is he expressed hope for permanent reconciliation and peace in the troubled region.

Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal’s Leadership:

Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, UPF Chair for the Asia Pacific region and a distinguished Member of Nepal’s House of Representatives played a pivotal role in hosting the event. Under the theme “Re-VISION: Towards Peace and Nation-building.” He underscored the necessity for collaboration between governments, civil society, and faith-based communities in fostering a cultured, prosperous, and egalitarian society.

Diverse Perspectives:

The conference featured a lineup of notable speakers, including Fr. Raul B. Barcela Ph.D., Dr. Leo Angelo Halog, Mrs. Annie Andanar, Dr. Robert S. Kittel, Mrs. Blessie G. Dhakal, Mr. Ronnie Sodusta, Pres. Masaichi Hori, Atty. Rodelio T. Dascil, and Dr. Venus G. Agustin. In addition, each speaker brought a unique perspective. Emphasizing the role of government, civil society, and faith-based communities in building a peaceful and united world.

Ambassador for Peace Dinner Banquet:

The gala evening appointed 18 new Ambassadors for Peace and was attended by 96 dignitaries and staff. It served as a platform for fostering diplomatic relationships and promoting the values of peace and cooperation. Among the distinguished awardees was our very own, Mr. Mark Enriquez, the visionary CEO/President of iPhiTech. Furthermore, his unwavering commitment to fostering harmony and understanding earned him this esteemed recognition.
